The Weaver Bearcats in the Coosa Valley Football League had their season opener on Saturday against the Lineville Aggies.

Krista and Tom Young had an ulterior motive when they joined the White Plains Youth Athletic Organization.

The Calhoun County Quarterback Club ended its highly successful season at the annual Scholar Athlete Banquet Raffle, held at the Anniston Country Club.

The 2005 Ohatchee Midget football team ended their season with an 8-2 winning record. With a 1st place position in their Region, the Ohatchee Midgets advanced to the Coosa Valley Football for Youth Championship playoffs for the first time in 10 years.

The 2005 Coosa Valley Football for Youth Pee Wee Coach of the Year is Stacy Jennings from Weaver. This is the second consecutive year that Jennings has been selected for this award by the other coaches in his conference.

On Friday, Nov. 18, the Alexandria Elementary School gym was full of excited cheers as the community came together to celebrate championship efforts by Alexandria’s Midget and Pee Wee teams.
