Hit the cut-off man
Outfielders need to learn at a very early age how important it is to hit their cut-off men from the outfield.
The cut-off man is going to be the second baseman or shortstop on routine hits to the outfield. However, the first baseman becomes a cut-off man on an extra-base hit to stop trail runners from advancing or scoring.
A chest-high throw from a good crow-hop will get the ball in quickly from the outfield, and gives your infielders an opportunity to make plays.
