KSE Jumping for American Heart Association

Kitty Stone Elementary School in Jacksonville will once again be jumping rope to raise money for the American Heart Association. Last year KSE was tops in Calhoun County raising over $7, 100 for this important cause.

According to Jennifer Young, PE teacher at KSE, Jump Rope for Heart is beneficial not only to the American Heart Association but to the children as well. “Heart disease is the No.1 killer; stroke No. 3 in the United States. We want the children to know the importance of fighting these two diseases.” The children are given instruction on the importance of being healthy, and worksheets teaching proper nutrition and urging children to “get up and move.” Being overweight and diabetes, two conditions that contribute to heart disease, is increasing at an alarming rate in the United States, especially in Alabama.

Those of you who have been with Score! since the very beginning have probably noticed that our first online poll hasn’t changed.

We’ve been keeping it active to allow as many of our new members to vote on it as possible.

I just wanted to say that I think this site is so cool! If I write stories about our junior high school sports can I submit them to you? What kind of information can I send to you?

What happened to the hiking section?

When I first registered there was a Hiking section…now its gone. I guess I could use the Outdoor section instead right?

Where to email pictures?

How do I send in pictures? I saw the gallery but it doesn’t say how to upload pictures to send in.
