WHO CAN ATTEND? Any child (female or male) currently enrolled in any grade between 2nd and 6th..

LOCATION: Lincoln Park at the junction of US Hwy 78 and AL Hwy 77.

CAMP SETUP: Camp will be comprised of four segments with each beginning at 2pm on Sunday until 5pm. The camp will run through the entire month of September. In case of a rain out, that section of the camp will take place on the next available Sunday.

Oxford Black AAA Eliminated in state tournament;Richie sets state record

MONTGOMERY - On Saturday, July 30, Oxford AAA lost to Fairhope National 12-8 in the first round of the state tournament and was eliminated in the second round by Clanton, 5-4.

In the game against Fairhope National, Kenyon Richie, third baseball for Oxford Black AAA, tied the All-Star state tournament record with two home runs in one game and another state record for six RBI’s in one game.

IN THE 4TH GAME OF THE STATE TOURNAMENT FOR ALEXANDRIA, THEY ENCOUNTERED A STRONG DECATUR AMERICAN TEAM.

PITCHING FOR THE VALLEY CUBS WERE REGGIE PATTERSON, JOSH RAY, AND JON MICHAEL LEE.

HITTERS FOR THE CUBS WERE TAYLOR SHANKS WITH 2 SINGLES, JOSHUA PALMER WITH A SINGLE, JON SHANKS WITH A DOUBLE,AND JON MICHAEL LEE WITH 2 SINGLES.

CATCHING THE ENTIRE TOURNAMENT FOR THE CUBS WAS HUNTER GINN.

THE VALLEY CUBS GOT TO A SLOW START OFFENSIVELY BUT WOKE UP IN THE 2ND WITH A LEADOFF SINGLE DOWN THE 3RD BASE LINE BY 2ND BASEMAN JOSH RAY. A STEAL FROM JOSH AND A WALK BY LEFT FIELDER JON SHANKS HAD EVERYONE IN PLACE FOR RIGHT FIELDER BRAY MCCORMICK TO KNOCK IN WITH A 2 RBI DOUBLE HITTING THE LEFT FIELD. SHORT STOP TAYLOR SHANKS HIT A DOUBLE OFF THE PITCHERS GLOVE GOING TO LEFT FIELD TRYING TO SCORE BRAY BUT CENTERFIELDER DALTON JOHNSON THREW HOME FOR A PLAY AT THE PLATE.

FIRST BASEMAN JOSHUA PALMER WAS WALKED TO FIRST MOVING GINN TO 2ND. THIRD BASEMAN JOSH RAY SINGLED TO RIGHT FIELD TO MOVE EVERYONE A SLOT. LEFT FIELDER JON SHANKS HIT A 2RBI SINGLE TO LEFT FIELD.
THE CUBS WERE AHEAD BY 3.

GLENCOE FOUGHT BACK AND SCORED 3 RUNS AS WELL IN THE 1ST INNING WITH HITS BY ELLIOT SIMS AND COREY HANCOCK. CATCHER HUNTER GINN ENDED THE INNING WITH A THROWDOWN TO SHORTSTOP HUNTER KELLEY TO GET CENTERFIELDER DALTON JOHNSON OUT.

FOR THE 2ND GAME OF THE STATE DIXIE BOYS TOURNAMENT, ALEXANDRIA FACED A SOLID SOUTH BIBB TEAM. TAYLOR SHANKS PITCHED ALL 7 INNINGS WITH 9 STRIKEOUTS AND NO WALKS. DEFENSIVELY SHANKS HAD AN OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE WITH 6 PUTOUTS.

THIRD BASEMAN REGGIE PATTERSON LED OFF THE 5TH INNING WITH A HARD HIT BALL TO SHORT STOP. TAYLOR SHANKS FOLLOWED WITH AN RBI TRIPLE TO RIGHT FIELD. A HOMERUN TO LEFT FIELD BY SHORTSTOP HUNTER KELLEY CAPPED OFF THE 5TH INNING SCORES.

The district 2 tournament started Monday July 3rd. By winning their sub-district, Oxford Black is the host for the tournament.
The 8 teams that earned the right to compete in the tournament are Oxford Black, Jacksonville, Lincoln, Saks, Ranburne, Woodland, Alexandria, and Ohatchee.
The scores after the first 2 days in the double elimination tournament are:

Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Baseball/Softball Registration For:
Boys and Girls ages 5-14 years old.
Registration Fee: $45.00 per child $40.00 each additional child in the same family.
Dates: February 13th through 24th
Late Fee: After the 24th of $10.00 per child (no guaranteed openings)
Times: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, and until 8 pm on Friday, February 24.
The PARD Office will be closed on February 20 due to Presidents Day.
